The Tiospaye House is the first step to the Co-op's self- sustaining community. The Tiospaye House residents will be made up of community members who are ready to dedicate themselves to the Tiospaye Housing Co-op’s goals by agreeing to become join the Co-op and learning the skill(s) that will help in either building eco-friendly, about plants/planting, or sharing cultural or traditional skills with the Co-op members. Since the Tiospaye Community Housing Co-op is designed for the underserved communities in Mni Luzahan who lack community support, resources, and/or a safe place to stay in their time of crisis, the Co-op is focusing on the tiospaye relatives who have experienced some or all of these challenges: 1. being unhoused; 2. custody battles with the state; 3. incarceration; 4. drug addiction and alcoholism; and have committed themselves to solving and overcoming the problems they face.
