Community Circles

Youth Circles

Youth circles are a space for young people to listen and engage with each other. Indigenous youth talking circles increase cultural knowledge, emotional well-being, peer relationships, confidence, and leadership ability for young people. Youth activities have included supporting LGBTQ+ youth in creating a mural in Art Alley, working alongside elders to prepare for ceremonies while learning their history and traditions, and attending events like tribal council meetings to help them understand the current needs of their people.

Women’s Circles

Women’s meetings are focused on learning traditional skills such as beading, making moccasins, and sewing ribbon skirts. We also offer information and assistance to young girls who would like to take part in an Isnati (Womanhood) Ceremony in 2023.
